Hey people! Sorry there have been no updates for a little while. We’ve all been crazy busy with various things, but there are a lot of new projects in the works that will be coming very soon, including new music from Big Black Cloud, Hooded Hags (members of Hornet Leg, Big Black Cloud and Cat Fancy), Hammer Of Hathor, Drunk Dad, Honduran, Kotten-Dik, Psychic Feline, DMV, and more! Hornet Leg!

Hornet Leg’s new LP “Still Life” showed up on the doorstep today, and it sounds amazing! Now we’ll be getting to work on silk-screening the covers, and should have them available for you by the end of next week. This record is crazy good, for real.

The boys are leaving to go on a quick West Coast tour this Saturday, so all you Cali people go out and show them some love! Their tour schedule can be found HERE.

For one, the website is currently being revamped, and now has MP3’s of almost all our records up for purchase, so check it out! Okay! Time for a little update with some Gweat news!These records are now available from this website and they come with Mp3 download cards, so you can put it on your ipod or computer or whatever.The record release party for Foot Ox-OOO is tonight July 16th at the green house. 612 NE Jarret. Scheduled to play are Foot Ox, Forever, Blandina, Blood Beach and Matt and the Minervals.
Here comes A big black cloud!! makes there name change official with the new 12″LP-Dark Age. Big Black Cloud will celebrate its record release on July 20that Valentine’s 232 SW Ankheny with Dragging an Ox Through Water and Batmen.

A Bunch of New Records on the Way

Summer will start any day now and we will celebrate the coming sun with some spectacular new releases! First off, for any of those who didn’t get any, we finally have the repress of thee Ohsees/Paul Cary 7″(w/misprints corrected). Very limited copies for both retail and wholesale, so no trades please. Order now if you want one because they probably won’t last long!
Our first new release of the summer marks a new era for Stankhouse Records. The new Foot Ox record-OOO-will be made available with MP3 download card. We’re just waiting on the inserts from the band and these records are ready, sometime in mid to late june. Also, OOO by Foot Ox is NOW AVAILABLE in CD format from this website.
The Dragging an Ox through Water 7″ release show will be at Valentine’s on June 29th with Golden Retriever, Kevin Shields, and Soft Metals.
You can expect MP3 downloads with almost all of our new vinyl releases. Big Black Cloud has been hard at work at ChainGang art studios screen printing covers for their new record DARK AGE, due for release sometime between mid-july and mid-august. We just approved the test press for the Hornet Leg album and Purple Rhinestone Eagle is planning their record release show on July 24th. Hopefully, the records will be here by then.
In addition to these 4 records, we are planning a special release of the Tiny Knives full length on CD and cassette tape. The tape will come with an MP3 download card. The vinyl version should be available in late fall. That makes five new releases to look forward to this summer from Stankhouse Records. Be sure to check out the stankhouse showcase this Thursday June 3rd at Branx, 320 SE 2nd. Scheduled to perform are Big Black Cloud, Purple Rhinestone Eagle, Tiny Knives, Don Hellions and Dragging an Ox through Water. 9pm $5

Foot Ox/Splinter Cake Split 7″

I have to say that I am pretty stoked about this 7″!! Teague and Kelly are both prolific and engaging songwriters. This little record has been more than two years in the making and though their song writing styles have evolved since then it still represents the beauty of both their projects. Co-released with Folktale and Tiny Panda, the art was drawn by Teague Cullen and the covers were silk-screened by Chris at Folktale. He did an excellent job. Comes with a FREE MP3 download code. Limited 500 press, 100 which are on clear yellow vinyl, the rest are black.
In addition, Stankhouse Records has picked up distribution for the first Foot Ox record-It’s Like Our Little Machine. It can be found on our distro page(contact us for special orders)I’ll make it more accessible on the website with an “add to cart” button, soon. In other news, we’re sending out the new Foot Ox record-OOO to the pressing plant this week, so look forward to that in the upcoming months as well as a handful of other splendid releases!

For all those who have been waiting, the Paul Cary record is finally available. Alex Y. down at Mississippi loves it and so do a lot of other people. Check out a great review from onethirtyBPM. Also, I’ve gotten word from Whitman down at Folktale that he just mailed me the Foot Ox/Splinter Cake records(co-released with Folktale and Tiny Panda) we’re gonna have that up on the site any day now.
